When my husband retired from the Marines after 25 years of service, we settled
in Jacksonville. I started working at a Colombian restaurant, where one of the
regulars — Mrs. Cristina Sulliva — saw me cleaning the blinds one slat at a
time. "Florecita," she said, "why don't you start your own cleaning
business? You're really good at this."
I told her I was scared. My English wasn't great. But she insisted. My husband
believed in me too — he gave me money for a vacuum and some flyers. Two
Peruvian friends with cleaning experience helped me get started.
In April 2013, K's Cleaning Solutions LLC
was born. The "K" stands for Keyla, my
daughter.
The first year I had two or three clients — all friends of Mrs. Cristina. Then
their neighbors started calling. Then Mr. Ray Evans, a RE/MAX broker, started
referring me to his clients. Word spread.
Today, 100+ recurring clients trust us
with their homes. Ten women on our team treat every home like their own.
